USB Connected Printers on Clients now showing in TS Application

Recommended Posts

Posted

Our TS is running 2000. Only one application is set up to run out of this

box and is set to map users printers. In the last week two new printers have

been connected to clients machines via USB cables and are their default

printer for their desktop. Both clients are XP Pro and have the latest RDP

client, the server is also up to date in this area.

I did review several articles and websites and recieving no errors in this

area. I also tried the solutions outlined in KB302361 and neither works. I

also tried installing the drivers on the server and then redirecting and just

not showing up.

I am not sure if I missed something obvious or not? I would apprciate any

further guidance.

Vera,

With all that went on with this I must of missed a couple of events on the

server end. I am getting Event ID 1111 and 1106 for both affected printers

on the server.

I recall seeing a couple of posts on them so as I await your reply I will

look them back up.

Thanks for the continued assistance.

Re: USB Connected Printers on Clients now showing in TS Applicatio

If you get 1111 and 1106 errors in the EventLog, then there's a

printer driver name mismatch, and KB http://support.microsoft.com/?

kbid=239088 should work. Pay close attention to the *exact* name of

the driver, it's case sensitive.

Vera,

After seeing your intial post I looked up the KB and had it fixed before I

got your notification so that one did work, course thank you for asking if

checked the event log on the server again that got me started.
