RandyL Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 It looks like the final version of IE8 is ready to go and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Internet Explorer Site. You can read more at Zdnet blogs. As for me I think I'll wait just a little longer to see how others like it. Quote We are all members helping other members. BeeCeeBee Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 So then, does this mean there is an issue:confused: If we determine that it is a major fault with the download do we ban Bill Gates from membership in Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help? :) I guess waiting turns out to be the best advice after all. Match Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Firefox is generally more secure that IE hence IE8, also Firefox has a nice customise feature where it can be easily skinned, with endless plug inn's. Guess the downside is that too many plugins could confict or make it run slow but never heard of that problem. Quote
RandyL Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 From a different post you mentioned toolbar add-ons. As IE8 is new have you tried running it without any toolbar add-ons? A slightly slower startup is not too bad as long as it works. It could be worse. As I said in my first post, I will wait. Thanks for the feedback kevh. Much appreciated. Diurno Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Just thought I would let you guys know, that so far no errors or problems with IE8. To be honest seems pretty cool! I am a bit biased when it comes to browsers because I'm a Microsoft boy and never really tried any other browsers.
