BeeCeeBee Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Since it is virtually impossible to safely remove IE entirely, FF almost always co-exists with Internet Explorer. Importing favorites into Firefox is really only a mouse click or two. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain

Diurno Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Oki Randy, will do my best :D Even though, I am a microsoft boy. I know of friends that run firefox and IE and no problems at all. Just like mr beeceebee said, it is very hard to completly remove IE, so they work like a "team". Diurno Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I personally prefer the design of the other IE (IE7). It looks like you went back in time to Windows 98. IE7 made me feel like I was using a beautifully designed Mac and IE8 is like a warning telling me that I'm still using Windows. Does that make sense? The boxes are squares instead of the lovely roundy shaped in IE7. But apart from that IE8 rocks! Some useful features like the "suggested websites" (similar websites, with the same context) and some hiden ones that I'm still trying to work out what they do. kevh Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 The square, naff lookin tabs , were strangely the first thing that caught my eye. I spose they have to rotate the look now so IE 9 will be "wow nice lookin rounded tabs" (again :D ) Thanks for advice too  Quote Home Pc: Intel i5 - 4460 3.20 ghz 8gb Kingston Hyper-X Fury Dual-DDR3 1600MHz Windows 10 64bit HomeEVGA 960 GTX SSC 2Gb GDDR 5 DX12Corsair VS430watt PSU250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD24" Benq Led screen Work Pc: Quad Q9550 2.83ghz4gb XMS2 DDR2 800mhzAsus P5QL Mobo Windows 7 PremiumPalit GTS250 1GB ddr3 450watt FSP PSU640Gb WD Caviar Blue HD22" Samsung Lcd (1680x1050)
help4me Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Just thought I would let you guys know, that so far no errors or problems with IE8. To be honest seems pretty cool! I am a bit biased when it comes to browsers because I'm a Microsoft boy and never really tried any other browsers. IE8= 4* out of 5* So it would seem from the posts in this thread that there is a conflict between IE8 and XP. The pc we tried IE8 on was running XP home.... and the computer crashed.. then froze. So far no one seems to have issues with IE8 and Vista. Quote Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.6 GHz6GB RAM500 GB HDDIntel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with 128MB dedicated memory Computer acting up?
