Try a BIOS reset by unplugging from the mains and taking out the BIOS battery for a couple of minutes.

Put in back in, power it up - will it run?

If not, let us know the PC exact model, serial number and the BIOS file you used to update.

You will also have a backup of the BIOS on the MOBO disk if all else fails, depending on how old the MOBO is

b4 this i just try to unplug the cmos battery for few minutes.. but it doesn't work...

Right - when you pop the cmos battery all the information thats stored on the BIOS gets set back to how it was when it was made.

So any thing that the BIOS may be causing the PC not to boot, is essentially reset.

If you are still getting the error then you have added some hardware to the PC that it does not recognise and you can either remove it and then install the drivers, or try and boot to safe mode

It would appear to me that you have incorrectly flashed the BIOS -

set your first boot device to CDROM in the BIOS - save and then exit.

Insert the MOBO disk and it should boot the MOBO disk - there should be an option to reflash the BIOS.

IF not you are in a right mess and need a BIOS replacement (which is not easy if you are a beginner and you have to source the same chip)

I do have MSN, but not on it and cant get on it as im at work.

Mobo cd is the cd that has the drivers on for the Ethernet and chipset, USB etc.

You would have something supplied when you bought the computer - you need those disks

your PC hangs as you have done something to alter the last time it booted ok.

The BIOS flash is probably the problem, lets say you chose the right BIOS update ok and then popped the CMOS - and reset the first boot device back to HDD and disabled the other boot device priorities - it should boot up as normal

Flashing a bios is not to be taken lightly or without knowing just what you are doing. Dalo or others will be able to tell you whether flashing an incorrect bios will do permanent damage but you certainly cannot expect the PC to actually work properly if you have.

Did you in fact flash the bios with the wrong information?
