I have a theoretical question which has probably been asked before. Please bare with me as I have been hunting for an answer for some time now but have found nothing concrete.

A large organisation has a number of older PCs that are no longer being used. They are still perfectly serviceable so the organisation would like to donate them to other departments within the same organisation but for use by the public. This may be Day Centres for people with learning disabilities, for instance.

How does the volume licensing work for the copies of Windows 7 that are installed on these PCs? Is there an issue with this or can the license still be used as it is effectively the same organisation albeit a different department?

I would be very grateful for any advice please.

Thanks very much
