I've used Avast for ages and can't speak highly enough of it. I've never paid a penny for it and it's consistently worked for me and doesn't bombard me with loads of rubbish I don't want. Downloading it is a breeze and it's very intuitive. Although I now have W7, I'm pleased to learn it'll work with older versions.
