windows protection error and Norton Anti Virus

I posted to this group about my windows protection error. I found that

by uninstalling NAV and also the utilities, and reinstalling NAV, I

was able to start up normally for the past week. I am still on the

fence about the utilities( Win Doctor and Disk Doctor).

You may want to consider alternatives.

1. A consensus was reached years ago that NAV mated

defectively with Win98 i.e. rendered Win98 more vulnerable

to crashing.

2. NAV is no longer sold or supported for Win98.

Hi Don.

It also caused errors on my Win Xp computer, and when I reinstalled

it, the errors stopped.

Suggestions for another software?

Or he may want to locate and install the 2002 version of NAV or NSW

(Norton System Works), which will update itself with the most current

versions of the scan engine and definition files.

Again, I've found no fault with them (the 2002 NSW version).

I don't know if that's specifically true, but if so it would have

started with the 2003 or 2004 version.

Depends on what you (and Symantec) mean by support.

If you mean e-mail or phone support, probably not. But most people

don't need support like that.

Like I said, NAV/NSW 2002 runs just fine on 98, and when it updates

itself NAV 2002 obtains current definition and scan engine files.
