GMAIL Question.

Hi Guys.Anyone know how I can stop a person flooding my Gmail daily with crap.This is really starting to annoy me.

I had a look,but can't seem to see where it's possible.

I get Emails with up to 50 other peoples Email Addresses included in the Emails. Thanks.:)

Welcome to the wonderful world of spam! Other than play with your settings there is little you can do. I will tell you what NOT to do although I suspect you already know.

 

DO NOT open the mail and follow any link that tells you that it will remove you from a mailing list.

If you do you will be branded as someone who opens this crap and it will only increase. You can probably block the address but you will find that they rarely use the same email address twice.

 

I know there is software out there that is supposed to help. I am always leery of that stuff but maybe someone know as good one.

Let us know Dougie, I know we have one member who swears by mailwasher. I use email for business and am always afraid that I will miss something.

May be a problem when you have multiple Email Addresses,with Mail Washer.:)

Unfortunatly Dougie I think this is a Gmail issue, I too have a Googlemail account and I get in excess of 500 spam a day, but these do go straight into my spam folder, none get leaked into my main inbox.

For the record I get Zero spam on gmail so I can't agree that it is a gmail issue. I use gmail primarily for business as it provides good access from any computer and works well with Outlook Express as well.

 

I suspect because I use it for very little general use I get very little spam in return.

I will configure GMAIL so it goes straight into the Spam Folder as you say.

Gmail has been OK up until this person started with this crap.

I just dont want to get any nasties.

Are they Pyramid Emails I wonder.

Oh okay, sorry :P I assumed you meant loads of spam, not just one person.

 

I too once had no problem with gmail but now i get over 500 a day and ive done nothing to get them and my only option is to leave them to get deleted automatically.

I get Spam daily on all Email addresses,but this person is really driving me up the wall.Up to a dozen a day.I will figure it out,and thanks for everybodies advice..Much appreciated.

From reading MailWasher,it is only good for only 1 Email address,so wont serve the purpose.:)

Hi Wolfey.I have Hot Mail,Outlook Express,GMAIL,Thunderbird and Yahoo,at he moment.

Hot Mail is for MSN

Outlook Express is my main Email address.

GMAIL is for Google talk for history of conversations.

These Emails I am getting have up to 50 to 75 Email Addresses listed.

Why send them to me.LOL

I forgot to mention,all these addresses are in the main body of the Emails in Blue,and are Live.That what seems odd.

Doug you have made yourself very public and put a target on your back. We all get it to some extent or another. Blanket spam is very ordinary they get a list of email address on an isp or other sources and just add them to spam email. I'll bet that most of the recipients are near you in the alphabet.

 

With that many active accounts you are bound to get spammed. You just have to get used to it.

Just checked and all the Email addresses start at A and run through the Alphabet,and 90% are hot Mail Addresses. Thanks Guys.:)

You are dead right mate.I will send Emails to my friends and close some of the Emails. I really only want Outlook Express and I like Thunderbird for sending Emails.The rest will have to go.It is a mess at the moment.:)
