Open source software to monitor and alert Windows and Linux machines

I want to have a tool that will allow me to monitor some basic components

such as CPU, disk usage, memory and possibly be able to run some SQL queries

against our Windows and non-Windows servers.

 

Are there any open source tools out there ? Dont really have the finances

for Quest,Embarcardero,etc..
