Guest Brad Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 MS Windows 2003 IIS 6.0 Our network is split and we in fact have two networks. Our web server is able to see both networks (1 connection to the internal network and 1 connection to the external network) At this point, joining the networks is not a viable solution. We are experiencing intermittent problems connecting to the internet from the server. It maintains connectivity since all traffic coming to the server is fine and responds fine. The issue we are experiencing is that when we try to connect to a web page external to our network, we get a page cannot be displayed error. As the subject states, this is intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Are there some settings that would direct traffic to one network adaptor over another? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Guest William Mann Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 RE: Server on two networks has intermittent internet connection First things I'd do is check the routing table on the server, you should be able to see which routes the server is taking to the internet. Also, try tracert, to say, http://www.bbc.co.uk, or pathping, and see which route it uses. See if this changes, when the fault appears, or disappears. It might be a misconfigured switch. Hope this helps. Will "Brad" wrote: > MS Windows 2003 > IIS 6.0 > > Our network is split and we in fact have two networks. Guest Brad Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Re: Server on two networks has intermittent internet connection William, Thanks for the information. The next time the connection is not made, I will make sure that I check the tracert. I have some reading to do about routing tables but from the onset of it, we may need to add an entry to send some specific traffic out, but I want to make sure first though. ~Brad On Dec 4, 11:57 am, William Mann <WilliamM...@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > First things I'd do is check the routing table on the server, you should be > able to see which routes the server is taking to the internet.
