Pointing AD to WSUS 3.0 - does it require port number?

Hi,

 

When setting AD to point all clients to WSUS intranet location, does it

require the port number after the intranet server location of is the server

name enough?

 

http://server:3434 or http://server ??

It shouldn't do, unless you specified a particular port number when

installing IIS. Check IIS to see what port number the updateservices website

is using. Also, try http://server and see what happens, clients should start

connecting within a few to 30 minutes.

if you have a default site as well as sus you have to set it on another

port

so the correct url would be http://susserver:3434
