Guest RossB Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I am looking to test multiple servers accessing SAN storage, while maximising page file use. Are there any utilities out there to maximise page file use? I wish to ensure we can use multiple servers both, booting from and accessing SAN at the same time. Essentially, I have read that there are issues doing this, and wish to verify the stability of using SANs to replace internal hard disks, as we have significant performance advantages doing this(around 20 times faster on read and write access).
Guest John John Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Re: utility needed to max out page file use Try Leakyapp. You could also use Clearmem to force a quick, sudden trimming of all the working sets (including the System Working Set), that should force all the working sets to be quickly paged out. Both of those tools/applications are available on the Microsoft website. Be aware that these applications (especially clearmem) can/may crash the server. Let us know how you make out, it would be informative to find out the outcome of your experiment!
