computer freezes when trying to make purchases

hi i was wondering if someone can help - ever since mastercard securecode / verified by visa has been introduced i have found it very difficult to make purchases online

i can enter my details on shopping site but when it says - confirm and you will be redirected to mastercard secure code / bank website for authorisation where i need to type a password in, the site seldom opens- it starts to load and says its loading even after an hour

sometimes it has come up straight away but thats once in a blue moon, today for example i have been trying to purchase something for about six hours on and off and it doesnt work i have tried countless times!

ive tried turning off pop up blocker and holding down ctrl key to see if that would open it in a new window but it still doesnt work

its probably something really simple but i really dont know what to do!

Do you have any toolbars installed - if so uninstall them.

 

Also, which browser do you use? I guess Internet Explorer should work perfectly, my experience of Internet Explorer and Firefox is that they work ok, but Opera does not.

took off toolbars but just tried again and still hasnt made any difference

its internet explorer and windows vista basic if thats any help?

Have you run a full Internet Explorer reset?

 

Doing so will return all the settings back to standard. It will also wipe out any saved passwords you have - just be aware of that.

 

Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options> Advanced, then down at the bottom, Reset. Click Reset.

 

Once that is complete, close Internet Explorer, open it again and.........does it work correctly?

You may also want to check that the site is in 'allowed sites' in your security section of IE

hi - tried reset last night as advised above and just listed site in trusted sites there now but still no joy, it couldnt be anything to do with my internet connection could it? it brings everything else up ok

Please go into tools on your Internet Explorer and then internet options.

 

What are your security settings? Also look in the privacy tab and tell us what those settings are as well.

security settings for internet are medium-highm sec settings for trusted sites is low and the web site www. securesuite.co.uk is listed as trusted

privacy settings are in as medium - no sites listed
