.Net project hangs initializing offline cache

I use VS 2003 for maintenance on a couple of projects. 1 particular solution gives me headaches. I start it up, and the IDE hangs/stops in the middle of loading with the status bar saying 'Initializing offline cache...'

 

At times, if I close down just about every application (even IM and IE) I can get it to run without hanging there.

 

I have also had times where, if several programs were running and I had the solution loaded, starting debugging hung.

 

The laptop I use has 2Gb of RAM on it. Any thoughts on what could be causing this or how to better debug the situation?

 

Edit: BTW, the 2 main solutions I'm working with (1 works, 1 has this problem) are both ASP.Net 1.1 solutions)
