bathroomboy Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Just bought a new pc to replace my plodding dell, it is the aldi medion Akoya P4340 MEDION UK as with past computers I wanted to put in the maximum ram, it came with 4gb I went on the crucial site and they recomended 2gb each in the vacant ports, I have learned since that Vista 32bit will only reconise 4gb of the 8gb installed, having said this I immediatly noticed a significant increase in speed when browsing web pages after installing the extra memory? Also the pc comes with an extra version of Vista 64bit not installed, what problems would I have if I attempted to install this i.e drivers etc. Thanks Quote
Match Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Hi Bathroomboy To be totally honest 64bit or 32bit? well with what I have just read as I have no practical experience with 64 bit Vista I would seriously be thinking of giving it a try if I had 8 Gig of RAM and a copy handy. There's an Interesting review HERE and another HERE but to be totally honest again I don't have what you've got lying around and hopefully soon will be adding another 2 GIG of RAM to my system, which still won't make it worth my while buying the 64 Bit OS Quote
