DSTM Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Wondering is it possible to disable Password Manager? Thanks.:) Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
maynardvdm Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Hi Doug Are you talking about the one in FireFox? Click Tools -> Options and Open Security Tab. Under the section Passwords, uncheck or check the option Remember Password for sites and if you would like to protect the passwords that are being stored, make sure that you use a master password. DSTM Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 Hi Maynard.I have managed to get myself into a mess as usual. It won't accept my correct password. Is this part of IE7 Browser? I am using IE7 and Opera at the moment. Thanks. Never had before this reinstall. If I dump SP3 and go back to IE6,will this get rid of Password Manager? Match Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 If I dump SP3 and go back to IE6,will this get rid of Password Manager? Don't know if it will get rid of password manager as I haven't used IE for years, but it could cause other problems and would defiantly be less secure. Quote
DSTM Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 Hi Match. What I meant was I believe before you can go back to IE6 you have to uninstall SP3 first. Then reinstall SP3. I didnt mean to delete SP3 permanently. Or how would I reset the password for Password Manager? That may be easier. At present everytime I put in the correct password it appears again straight away. So I must have entered the wrong password to start with. Thanks.:) Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
RandyL Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Hi Doug; Please be patient with me as I try to understand a few things. Internet Explorer does not come bundled with a password manager. Are you talking about one of the many third party password managers programs for IE? If you do have an add-on program for IE uninstalling would be my choice. Then type the correct password. Or are you talking about IE Autocomplete where it wants to fill in the saved password? If this is the case then the saved password is the wrong one. Just let us know and we will figure it out for you. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
