Guest Dabwang4363 Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 We have folder redirection setup so that users Desktop and My Documents are located on the server. we have a GPO that sets this. Occasionally some laptop users come in and they dont have access to their documents, the target of their My Documents folder is now local, C:\documents and settings\...... a GPUPDATE /FORCE fixes this when connected to the network. It only happens with the odd laptop user and is happening on 2 seperate sites, one of which is a brand new network. we have the options set so that this is still processed over a slow network and its still happening. Any ideas? thanks Nigel

Guest William Mann Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Re: Losing Folder Redirection? I had these problems, two possible solutions: 1. Group Policy Optmization may be in effect, try restarting the machine 2. Move the contents of My Documents to the new location might be ticked in the gpo (User Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Folder redirection -> My Documents -> Settings) Hope this helps Will "Anthony" wrote: > Nigel, > What error do you get in the client event log? > Anthony, http://www.airdesk.co.uk > > > "Dabwang4363" <Dabwang4363@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:769EC0F3-D733-40EA-8240-FFA0621F7160@microsoft.com... > > We have folder redirection setup so that users Desktop and My Documents > > are > > located on the server. we have a GPO that sets this. > > > > Occasionally some laptop users come in and they dont have access to their > > documents, the target of their My Documents folder is now local, > > C:\documents > > and settings\...... a GPUPDATE /FORCE fixes this when connected to the > > network. > > > > It only happens with the odd laptop user and is happening on 2 seperate > > sites, one of which is a brand new network. we have the options set so > > that > > this is still processed over a slow network and its still happening. > > > > Any ideas? > > > > thanks > > > > Nigel > > >
