VSS Fix KB 940349 and KB 915331 (VSS_E_WRITERERROR_TIMEOUT)

We have already applied - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349 on

w2k3, SP1 system.

But we get VSS_E_WRITERERROR_TIMEOUT error sometimes.

Its been observed that this error comes only when, time between

::PreCommitSnapshots() and ::PostCommitSnapshots() is more than 10sec

Does kb/940349 has this fix for "915331" ? If not, installing 915331

will overwrite fixes in 940349 ?

Without moving to SP2, is there a way to address the issue of

VSS_E_WRITERERROR_TIMEOUT
