Guest Peter Kaye624 Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Hi, I have a chance to buy an old IBM NetVista Pentiuum 4, 1.8 GHZ, i845(Brookdale) computer. I want to buy this to play older games but I'm wondering if this computer will run Windows 98SE. As I understand, later computers, or is it just chipsets, may not run Windows 98SE. Thanks for any advice, Peter K.

If you contemplate spending more money, consider RAM and video adaptor (for games performance.) -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada)

Thanks Robert, I have the system running now and it works well. I wish I had known about 2) as I had tried to dual boot my present system (P4, WinXP and 2GB) and could only get 640 x 480. I assumed I had incorrectly set up the dual boot and eliminated it. Now things are much clearer. Thanks again, Peter K.
