numnum Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Well this is the problem, i have turned off indexing, however when my computer first starts up then explorer uses 50% of the processor, i run a dual core so if it was a single core i think that it would go up to 100%... anyways this only happens on startup and my laptop gets very hot... however when it starts up i kill the process and then i run explorer again and then everything is normal... i wonder why is this happening.. any previous experiences? Note: I have turned off indexing... Thanks Quote
Match Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Hi Numnum can you tell us the make and model number of your Machine? and was there a reason you turned of indexing? and did this problem start straight after you turned of indexing? Quote
numnum Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 Hi, hmm not sure if it is relevant but i have hp pavillion laptop... This problem occurred before i turned off indexing... indexing was using my hardware too much so i turned it off in order to decrease my hdd and cpu usage... after i turned it off the computer was working faster with less usage of cpu and hdd when idle and i also turned it off because i usually know what programs i access and don't really search trough my computer very often =\ So far i think it has to do with some kind of bug of vista or something =\ but can't really pin point the cause... RandyL Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Hi num; Can you tell us the number of your Pavillion laptop please? Match probably wants to look up the specs. Does your laptop stay hot all the time?
