Make sure your Mic volume is not on Mute

Also - are you plugging the Mic into the front ports or the back of the Motherboard?

If the PC was built for you (most people, myself included dont hook them up unless asked to)

skype microphone

 

Hi elizabetharcher, go to your skype home page, click on tools at top of page, then click options, then audio settings, check here that your microphone is recognised/activated.

I have skype and had the same problem,

I had to do a little tweaking in the menus mentioned above, to get my headset microphone to work, as my built in microphone on my webcam and also my pc speakers seemed to be causing conflicts.

If you were to pm me your skype name, i could perhaps call you to try and help..

There's something called Skype Test Call you can use whilst you are changing things around and getting to work. Saves you having a friend waiting at the other end checking it is working. Edited by Tootech
