Hi I'm new to this but I've got a mesage in my taskbar between the volume icon and the wireless connection. A red circle with a white cross giving me a warning that I've my profile space and I can't turn PC off unless I unplug it from the wall. It started as soon as I deleted an free anti-virus program AVG that my son had downloaded from a radio station website. Help please

Hi roddy;

Does the warning say "Profile Storage Space"?

If so then you could try two things.

If you have been downloading and saving programs to your desktop move them to another location such as My documents. Not to be confused with the program shortcuts that are created on the desktop when you install programs.

Run the Windows Disk Cleanup Utility. To run the utility go to Start>All Programs>Accesories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup or type cleanmgr in the run box. Then select which disk Windows is installed on.

Thanks. I did as you said and can now turn computer off at shutdown. I have now got a new icon on the taskbar that looks like a monitor with something through it (its hard to see exactly what it is) When I hover the pointer over it it gives me a message saying (Available profile space 1958KB) is there any way of turning this off?

To be honest I can't check on this because I don't have Windows XP Pro.

But for some reason it seems someone has set a group policy on your machine.

Go to Start> run and type Poledit.exe

Do you see an existing policy? if so is there anything you can find in there that is related?

Post back and hopefully someone can offer some insight on this.

Hello Roddy. Please use the instructions from here to delete and view any existing policies that might be causing the problem.

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks thats got it sorted. Now got another slight problem. Started getting an error box at start up titled RUNDLL saying Error loading C:/WINDOWS/Ubugazatijo.dll and that the spcified module could not be found. If I close the box the computer starts and runs fine. Am I ok to just keep ignoring the warning.

Hi roddy;

Are you sure you typed that file name right? It is not a Windows file.

I can't find anything on it as something else so can you please verify it.

I ask because at some point we may be wondering if you have an infection as it is a very real probability based on your previous posts.

AVG was installed for some reason. Did you have AV protection before that?

Has your son installed any suspect programs?

In rare instances a trojan might be related to your original problem.

Now you have a new unknown problem so can you let us know about your security and suspect programs please.

You might want to have a talk with your son first to see if he has anything to offer.

I'm just trying to understand and of course Goku probably has a few great ideas of his own as always.

Hello Roddy. That indeed appears to be an infection. Please do the following to verify it.

  • Go to NoVirusThanks
  • Press the Browse... button under the File To Scan: field.
  • A dialogue box will pop-up. Browse to the below listed location and select the filename (highlighted in red):

    C:\WINDOWS\Ubugazatijo.dll

  • Press the Submit File button.
  • Please wait patiently while the file is uploaded and scanned through a battery of scanners.
  • After the scan is process is complete, you will be presented with the results of the file. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and copy all the text in the BB Code: field.
  • Paste the code in your next reply.

I will post further instructions after I see the results from the scan. Hope to hear from you soon. :)
