I have been learning quite a bit from all the posts and to be honest i have found it most interesting.

 

I have a question though my system

Asus P5Q Pro

Intel Q6600

4GB OCZ Reaper

260GTX

fsb (from what i understand 1066

 

i have 2 x 2 gig ddr2 pc2 5300 i think i could have 2 x 2 gig ddr2 pc2 8500

 

my question is what wopuld it improve?

Thanks for that Match, read it and understand a little more but really want to know is moving PC2 5300 to PC2 8500 going to make much differnce at all, i have just upgraded GPU to 9800GT and that was worth it as was PSU (as i had to for GPU) following everyones advice but am i better just staying as i am with regard to ram or will the move knock my socks off?

it wont knock you socks off until you come to overclocking :D

you wont visibly notice the difference
