TS client license issue

Hi,

a terminal server has 6 client device license.

there are 5 thin client terminal always connected to the termianl server.

In the TS license manager, it shows all 6 licenses are used.

Is it that the terminal server itself count as a device?

Moreover, it looks like no more other PCs can remotely logon to the TS even

all thin clients are logged off.

Is it that the device client license is bound to specific device rather than

concurrent?

Is it possible to re-configure the TS so that it uses per user license

instead of per device?

Thanks in advance,

Re: TS client license issue

Only you can tell us to which machine the 6th license is issued.

You can see that in the TS Licensing Manager.

TS licensing is *not* per concurrent usage, it is per *specific*

user or specific device.

If you have a valid Software Assurance Agreement on your current TS

CALs, you are allowed to switch them to Per User TS CALs when you

renew the SA agreement. You must phone the Clearinghouse, they can

issue you a new license pack.

Note that you would need a Per User license for every person who

connects to the TS, so if you have more than 6 people (you

included) who use the TS, Per Device is cheaper for you.
