Guest pdx Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I'm working on setting up ADS to build HP servers. I have captured an image and can deploy that image to the same hardware platform. What I want to do is use that base image to image other types of HP servers and to do so I need to make other drivers available but I'm unsure as to where to locate the files...should I create some sort of sysprep subfolder and point to it in the sysprep.inf file. Or is there somewhere within the ADS folder tree where drivers can be placed? What's the most efficient way to use the base image to image multiple server models? I'm planning to use a WinPE image to boot to and run an HP array config tool as part of the server build process. I built the WinPE image and can boot to it and have network connectivity, etc but the image seems slow and bulky... for example it goes through a slow factory -winpe phase where a popup window displays while it goes through, hardware setup, display settings, network settings, etc and a full moon/mountain background is displayed. Is this the normal PE boot or can I make it smaller/quicker so that I can run it from ADS, have the image boot (with network connectivity and run a script which calls the array config exe (which is accessible on a share on the ADS mgmt machine) and then winpe exits and the system imaging job can run? Thanks
