Worthwhile changing from Outlook Express?

Never used anything but (except many years ago when I first got cable - can't recall what it was). Having belatedly moved to Firefox rather than IE - I was wondering whether any other email clients were worth trying?

Well if you have your POP3 settings available from your ISP Quacker you can try Thunderbird from Firefox.

I agree, Thunderbird is the No 1 alternative and does a very good job

 

The install wizard should ask if you want to import an Outlook Express account - say yes, it is the easiest way to pull in all your mail and settings.

Now that we know that there is a good alternative to OE, the real question is why make the change. I have always found OE to be a pretty reliable mail client. Is there something about Thunderbird that makes it better alternative rather than just an alternative for the sake being an alternative?

I look at it this way that if you are going to run Firefox and want a POP3 client it makes sense to run Thunderbird.
