Hi

Am awaiting delivery of above 8.9in Netbook. It is a freebie from work for 10 year long service award (allowed anything to the value of £250 - no cash equivalent etc.)

Anyway, the unit has no optical drive and is wireless - I can of course download Firefox and other bits of software.

I have an external disk drive (250gb) so presumably I can use that via the USB port and transfer any other software I need for the notebook (Office, photoshop etc.) as well as some files (mainly MPEGs & possibly a few mP3s).

Is it straightforward to do this or would I be better served borrowing a USB cd drive? - just I've never tried this before as never needed too!

You will definitely need a USB cdrom drive to re-install the OS Recovery disks should it all go pear shaped Quacker.

That's over and above any software you may wish to install.

That's quite ironic really Wolfey. Unable to use their own recovery software lol. Hopefully that will not be needed for a while - gives me time to look out for one. Fortunately I can borrow one if needs must.
