Hi there

I have a Acer Aspire desktop pc with windows XP home edition. I recently done a scan (Norton) on my pc and there were 8 problems found. I selected to 'fix' it with Norton and it did the job and said successful, but I must restart for changes to take effect. When I restart it goes as far as the "welcome" logon screen and when I select my name it says "loading your settings" for a split second and then "closing network connections". Thats as far as it can go. I have tried starting in safe mode and last known good config etc, all to no avail. I have a backup/recovery disk but I dont want to wipe out photos I have on my C drive.

Please advise me what to do.

Many thanks!

We might be able to avoid that. Do you have your Windows XP installation disk that came with the computer?
