starams5 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 (edited) Hi Try this How to fix 0x80070005 Error 1. Download the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool. 2. Simply double click the file and hit the "continue" button. The tool will now run a diagnostic and hopefully automatically fix the issue on your PC. 3. When finished you should see an entry: Validation Status: Genuine 4. Now Reboot the computer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If that doesn't work try registering the dll's manually. Stop the Windows Update service before performing this task. Don't forget to reboot when done. 1. Click Start. 2. Choose Run. 3. In the Run box, type (pressing okay after each one) :- net stop wuauserv Repeat for the following: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 wuweb.dll regsvr32 MSXML3.dll regsvr32 qmgr.dll regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll regsvr32 jscript.dll net start wuauserv -------------------------------------------------------- If all of the above fails the MSXML3.dll may be corrupt. Go here and download MSXML3.dll Now boot into Safe Mode and navigate to c:\windows\system32\msxml3.dll. Now move MSXML3.dll from system32 to a safe location. Move the downloaded MSXML3.dll into the system32 dir and reboot back into normal mode. Edited May 12, 2009 by starams5 Quote
