tanya004 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Hi everybody! I've got a problem with my Sony earphones. One of them doesn't produce a sound. I've been wondering whether something is wrong with the earphones or a sound card? Could anybody give me advice? Quote
Jamey Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 It is most likely a problem with the earphones themselves. Have you tried wiggling the connection to the one that isn't work? If it emits sounds intermittently after wiggling the wire, you just have a loose connection. Otherwise, the earphone itself has probably been damaged somehow. Depending on the cost and quality of the earphones themselves, it may we more worthwhile to just purchase some new earphones rather than pay for their repair. In fact, this is likely in most situations unless you have some truely expensive earphones. If the earphones are relatively new or carried a warranty, you may be able to get them replaced or repaired free of charge by Sony. Quote
lodzinski Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 if she ever comes back and looks at this,. here's some help. No doubt they are broken. if you cannot see any obvious cable damage, its most likely the magnet has stopped moving. having had 2 pairs of creative earphones break on me in a month - (thats £60 up my shirt then!) I would suggest that if the connection is fine and there is no apparant damage, then just get a new set - testing them first on an appliance you know works is the first step, and after you try everything, stick them in the bin. I got a pair of Sennheiser earphones from John Lewis, and must say that they are very good, and not badly priced at all - for a tenner i can chuck them when they break. I have now decided not to spend lots of money on earphones, and save my money for a bose wave music system. here's a URL for the sennheisers: Sennheiser Quote
