jocur5 Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 have just had a BT voyager 210 router, I know it's not wifi, but wanted to get my laptop to work Wifi, tried to set up my linksys (wkpc54g) with the router (phone line to router then ethernet cable from router to linksys, then another from linksys to pc didn't work), my laptop recognised there was a wireless connection in range but when tried to connect it wouldn't, had this linksys for my blueyonder cable connection a few months ago worked great with old tosh laptop, this is a new acer (op vista) anyone any idea, is it the router won't work with linksys or what???? londonles Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 The BT Voyager is it a ADSL Wireless modem and router in one, as you can not physically connect 2 devices. Do you have a ADSL connection ie BT or a cable modem connection ie NTL/Telewest Les Quote Turn it on first it often helpsAll answers are given in good faith and carry no warranty or liabilities, please consider the implications of each action you choose as we can not be held responsible for any loss or damage how so ever caused

danzil Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 i believe the voyager 210 does not have wireless built in....it has the rj45 (network cable)connetion rj11 (adsl line to master socket) and usb... you can try having the router connected to your pc via the usb connection, then running the ethernet cable from the voyager to the linksys....the linksys shouldnt need any setting up,only the wep key etc..... i have set BT voyagers up succesfully in the past this way...but never with a linksys..... if it is still under guarantee then it may be worth swapping it out for an adls modem/router with wireless..these are cheap enough now.....you can get them for as cheap as £40. kind regards danzil Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D
