Ram installation

Hi,

it doesn't say either of the above..the only code on the tower relates to x/p windows.

I'm really getting frustrated with my computer..it freezes all the time and it takes me an hour just to get in to the forum some times..I get constant Disc Checks on 'D' and now that I am trying to download Microsoft Security Updates, the system keeps crashing and dumping to physical memory.

HELP!!!!

Regards

Rick

In Belarc there should be a section called Hardware, have a look in there for System Summary and tell us what that says.

Ram installation

Hello again,

there is no Hardware section in the report from Belarc, however, info under system model reads as follows;

VIA Technologies Inc. KT1400A-8235.

Any Use?

Regards

Rick

In Belarc at the very top to the right what does it say there?

For example this is what mine says,

Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 (build 6001)

HP-Pavilion KP324AA-ABU s3431.uk

System Serial Number: 3CR8111G89

Chassis Serial Number: DM0001

Enclosure Type: Desktop

Ram Installation

Hi,

it says,

System Model:

VIA Texchnologies Inc, KT400A-8235

Enclosure Type: Desktop

It the states Main Circuit Board:

http://www.abit.com.tw/KD7A(VIA KT400A-*235) x1

Bus Clock: 135 megahertz

BIOS: Phoenix Technologies LTD 6.00 PG 07/25/2003

Processor: 2.05 gigahertz AMD Athlon X/P

Operating System

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600)

It simply does not state what yours does Wolfemole.

The board is an Abit KD7a.

Look at this piccy below, it is similar to your board, the area in red is the memory slots - I believe yours has 3 rather than 2.

Memory spec is DDR 184 pin, PC2700 unbuffered.

If you go over to Memory upgrades, flash media, and usb storage at Crucial.com, and go through the memory selector, you'll find most of the info you need.
