change licensing mode

I have a win 2003 terminal server, it is set up in per device mode, I'm

getting that error where it can't upgrade or renew the license, so I guess I

have to change it to per user mode. The 2003 TS license server is activated

and has 10 user licenses, but it is not giving them out (issued says not

applicable). Question- Do I have to call MS and re-activate the license

server in per user mode? How can you tell what mode the license server is

running in?

On your TS, open up Terminal Services Configuration

(tscc.msc) and set the licensing mode to Per User.

 

That's it. Per User CALs are unmanaged so they will

not be issued.
