Can anyone tell me how to set up my two OCZ SSD drives in a RAID 0 setup?

I'm feeling a little stuck as to how to start doing this.

Thanks

One thing to note: RAID 0 doesn't provide any type of backup/reliability. It's only a method to INCREASE the SPEED of your computer. When it comes to reliability, it's actually HALF as RELIABLE as a non-RAID setup. I'm saying this because if any of the two RAID 0 devices fails, your system is hosed. Just thougth I'd inject that because some users are not aware of the implecations of using RAID 0.

I guess it depends on the motherboard you have - they usually have their own setup screen in the BIOS.

Fire up your system, get into the BIOS, have a look around for the RAID options, enable it if need be - you will then have a RAID setup screen where you can set up your striped array.

If you need more help with it, post your motherboard model/spec.

I'm setting up a new system (tomorrow hopefully) with the following motherboard:

Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

Core i7 1366 Support, 6400MHz FSB, Triple Channel DDR3 Support, 8x SATA, RAID, 12x USB2.0, FireWire, 7.1 HD Audio, Crossfire/SLI Support, Dual Gigabit

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Forgot to say that I will also be imaging the RAID disk onto one of my spare 1TB drives, so that hopefully should help out with any failure issue.

Have a look in your BIOS, over to Integrated Peripherals, and enable RAID. Look in your manual, section 2-6, page 59.

Also, refer to Chapter 5 as you need to make a RAID driver floppy disk.

From there you can create an array - look at page 90 onwards.

I use RAID 0, and all I can say is Backup, Backup, Backup.

Nothing increases productivity like the last minute.......
