IIS 6.0 - HTTP 404 - File or Direcotry not found on remote UNC roo

I am getting the above error when I create a Virtual Directory that points to

the root of a volume on a remote Windows Server 2003 Box (member server).

The config is as follows:

1: Using a custom application pool with a domain account that has read

access (NTFS and Shared) permissions on the remote server.

2: The domain account is a member of the local IIS_WPG group on the web

server.

3: I can see the folders from the IIS admin console within the Virt.

Directory.

4: The UNC share on the remote server is not an admin share (such as F$).

- I created my own.

5: My Permissions on the VIrt Dir are READ and BROWSE.

If I share out a sub folder on the same volume, it works fine.

I have tested this on multiple servers and domains and this issue is the

same when

creating a virtual directory that points to a remote root volume.

I just want to be able to see the folders from a web app.

But, I cannot see anything when testing with a standard url.

Any help would be appreciated.

THanks.
