Open access to share via VPN

Recommended Posts

I have remote VPN users that I want to be able to map a drive to a UNC share

on a Win2K3 server. The VPN connection uses IAS for authentication with AD.

I have created a share and setup read access for 'domain users' and

'anonymous'. However, users are still prompted for domain credentials in

order to map the drive. Can anyone tell me how to eliminate the login prompt?

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Open access to share via VPN

If the user logon the computer using a different user or password, that is

normal even he logon VPN using the domain username. What he may need to do

is logon the computer using the domain username.

Re: Open access to share via VPN

The VPN user logs in using his network account name and password, which

authenticates to the AD controller. Users are able to map drives to their

home directory and others, just not this new directory.
