Guest Jenna Karon Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Hello, I log into my server (windows 2003) as administrator and have another user who logs in who is a member of the administrators group. I have a folder that I'd like to restrict access to so that only I can access it. Is this possible to do if someone else is a member of the administrators group? I know I can restrict permissions but the other user can simply undo this. thankyou, J

Guest WorkingHard Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Re: One for the sys admins if you're going to use efs on several machines you'll need to plan for that and a pki ... without the proper setup you'll be using local encryption keys and this aill not travel ... also make sure you set up recovery agents etc ... Do NOT take this lightly or be prepared to lose data. read more at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457116.aspx "Jenna Karon" <jkaron1984@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:ORFvseEPIHA.2000@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... >I tried using EFS but then had problems trying to access the encrypted >folder from another machine (same username and pwd) > > > "WorkingHard" <WorkingHard@microsoftdiscussions.com> wrote in message > news:%23Nn7wcEPIHA.5360@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >> Nope, unless you start using encryption (EFS or other). >> "Jenna Karon" <jkaron1984@hotmail.com> wrote in message >> news:O3amMUEPIHA.5860@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >>> Hello, >>> >>> I log into my server (windows 2003) as administrator and have another >>> user who logs in who is a member of the administrators group.
