louis15889 Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 how do i go about saving the contents of my hard drive so then i can restore the system back to the orignal factory settings and then reput it on the system? Quote
maynardvdm Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Well the only way you can do that is to take the harddrive out and put it in another pc and copy all the data. Programs will need to be re-installed. So i take it you still cant boot normally? You have done this: Type Bootrec /RebuildBcd , and then press ENTER. If the Bootrec.exe tool runs successfully, it presents you with an installation path of a Windows directory. To add the entry to the BCD store, type Yes . A confirmation message appears that indicates the entry was added successfully. If the Bootrec.exe tool cannot locate any missing Windows installations, you must remove the BCD store, and then you must re-create it. To do this, type the following commands in the order in which they are presented. Press ENTER after each command. Bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old Bootrec /rebuildbcd Then restart your pc. Quote We are all members helping other members. maynardvdm Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Try this Bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup ren c:\boot\bcd bcd2.old Bootrec /rebuildbcd Note the spaces between bcd and bcd2.old and between Bootrec and /.
