Hi

Is there a reason it is formatted to FAT32 and not NTFS?

Take everything off Bella and format the drive as NTFS then try again.

re hard drive

Hi maynardvdm the reason it is fats 32 is the multimedia player it goes in only supports that format i bought this so i could view pics and video on the tv and listen to music .and wolfeymole im unable to formatt to ntfs as this would not work at all thanks any other info you could throw my way would be much appreciated ann:)

Try adding the photo's only - will it read those and run correctly?

What format is your music stored in - eg mp3, iTunes etc.

What is the make/model of your TV system?

It might we worth running a disk check - unplugging/plugging in a drive to different systems can cause corruptions. Do you use the Safely Remove Hardware tool in Windows?

What do you mean you bought a multimedia player with a hard drive?

Please be exactly specific as to what you have.

You can't wire a hard drive to a TV.

Have you got the hard drive hooked to a laptop and then viewing the output from the laptop on a TV?

Can you please include full stops and break your sentences down a bit so they are easier to read please also.

Please don't think us insulting.

Do you mean something like a Sky box or a Virgin Box that has a hard drive installed.

To me a multimedia player is something Windows media Player or VLC Media player.

Please tell us exactly just what this thing you have is.

Is it something similar to this?

What i have is a 250gig multimedia player. which is a powered external harddrive enclosure that will via a av cable connect to a tv. so you are able to view your pictures and video and mp3 .:)

We overlapped by writing at the same time, no worries.

Now, to place files on this drive you have used the laptop as stated so therefore it is a viable hard disk drive.

There should be no reason why you cannot remove all files from that drive and place them on the laptop temporarily while you format the drive to the NTFS format.

What seems to be happening here to me is that in a FAT32 structure only a certain amount of disk space is being recognised so hence your issue.

Given files eg MP3 or Pics are not reliant on a given file structure as you mistakenly stated here;

Hi maynardvdm the reason it is fats 32 is the multimedia player it goes in only supports that format i bought this
Please remove all files temp and format the drive to NTFS within Disk Management.

Disk Management can be found by right clicking My Computer/ Manage/Storage/Disk Management.

apparently this media player only supports fats 32 which i agree is a pain :).:) i read the manual and it clearly states fats 32 only.

That may be stated in the documentation but have you tried to format it to NTFS Bella?
