stop redirecting of printers.

when we login with the Admin Id we are have the following issue

first user to login, as admin, to the server, auto redirects the printer

output to their default printer.

the second user to as admin, redirects to thier default printer.

we don't want the printer to redirect at all.

we want the server to print to one one printer and no other.

the printer is already defined on the server and that is the only printer we

want to be used.

how can I do this?

server info:

windows 2003

version 5.2 R2 srv 03

build 3790

TIASP 2

RE: stop redirecting of printers.

You can disable Printer Redirection via individual user account settings,

GPO, or server settings in TSCC.MSC.

RE: stop redirecting of printers.

You can also uncheck the option in the RDP client:

[local resources - printers]

For future reference create two .RDP files. One with the printers

redirection and one without the printer redirection.

Good luck,

not sure where to find these, ( which menu, tab, checkbox etc...)

what happens if I check "windows printer mapping" (to disable)

in "terminal service config" > RDP > client session?

RE: stop redirecting of printers.

In RDP Client [Remote Desktop Connection] you will find it at:

Options -> Local resources -> Local devices section: printers

In TSCC.MSC [start run on the terminal server and type TSCC.MSC]:

Connections -> RDP-TCP -> Client Settings -> Connection section: connect

client printers at logon

There is also GP on server to disable printer redirection:

Computer Configuration->Administrative Template->WindowsComponents->Terminal

Services->Client/Server data redirection->Do not allow client printer

redirection

Thanks
