Chriscan Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Hi i have a question regarding my Daughters Broadband speed. She has an old PC that is running Windows XP SP2 Home Edition, all ok there. The problem is when she connects to her Broadband the speed just isnt up to much. She has 512 mmb R.A.M and the Processor is AMD K6 400Mhz.I am thinking that an uprgrade of both Processor and R.A.M would do the trick. Any thoughts on this? thanks Chris Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Hi Chris Welcome to FPCH To be honest mate an AMD 400MHZ processor is old hat these days, ok for a bit of word processing but that's about it. Even with 512 of ram XP will crawl. Better to look at an entirely new system or a second hand one with at least a 1GHZ CPU. The broadband can only truck at what the system will allow. Quote
