Windows vista- Http 400 Error's????????

hi,

 

i keep getting http 400 errors with IE in vista home basic. I can can get on certain sites, google for example, but i cant get to for, instance My ebay. It seems links cause this too, for instance i got onto microsofts help page, but when i clicked on contact us the error came up again! Also i cant sign into windows live mail, i get error message 80048820 extended error code 8004841f. I think i may have altered a setting by accident because all WAS fine. Apparently my connection is fine, windows found no problems with it? Any advice would be much appreciated, cheers!

P.S it came up when i tried to post this too!!!! it said my browser sent a request that could not be understood? I had to go back a page and re-send?

 

This is also preventing me running vista updates. Now noticed limewire cant connect either. On some site hitting refresh a couple of times work??

I know this is an old post but;

All the clues are probably here. Trojans, Viruses and spyware abound most likely. These are classic symtoms. In addition I always suspect the worse when I see P2P programs like Limewire.

 

The best solution is probably a COMPLETE re-install at this point. Then get protection and watch what you install.

IE7 has an excellent "Repair and Reset" feature:

 

Tools>Options>Advanced>Reset Internet Explorer Settings (Not Restore Advanced Settings).

 

I've successfully used the above on many occasions.
