hugeass Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 hey every 1 i formatted my laptop not long ago due to a virus and ive noticed now when i burn a cd theres nothing on it :(, the program i use to do it works the same as usual but when it says burn succesful and i pop my cd in to a cd player its just blank, also when i insert a cd (with music on) in my laptop the cd drive does not read it the dvd drive does, my driver is a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-LR33A ATA Device (i think lol) please help guys thanks Quote
Tootech Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 What burning software do you use? Some of them run a 'test' burn before actually burning, its easy to think its been done. It's worth checking the settings. Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 In what format did you burn the music? What software did you use to burn the music? Quote
hugeass Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 i normaly use windows media player just click burn then drag whatever music into the burn box and click start burn it then comes up saying writing to disk on each track and like i was saying it says burn succesful at the end and ejects the disk but theres nothing on the disks :( its deffo set on audio cd and ive tried nero aswel but same again the program says the operation was succesful but the disks are blank  Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 When you formatted did you get all relevant drivers from the laptop manufacturers site? What make of lappy is it by the way? Quote
hugeass Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 to be honest this is a first time ive ever formated a pc/laptop im not sure if ive done right or wrong :confused2: i have a ADVENT 5611 Quote
RandyL Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Your Advent has a single DVD±RW Supermulti drive. By your first post you can read DVD's but not read CD's in that drive. Any drivers you need would have been on a disk. No drivers are available for download from Advent or The TechGuys. However you should not need any specific drivers for that drive. I think the CD portion of that drive has failed. For a disk to seem to complete a burn when it has not happens on a failed drive. And by the way your Advent should have the Cyberlink Power2Go software installed. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. RandyL Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Thanks. At least we know the drive works and you have a way to burn now. I'm at a loss as to your original issues though. starams5 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Hi See if there is a firmware update available for your drive at the manufactures website. Quote
