Guest Buckeye Tech Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 I am trying to apply SP1 for EXchange 2007. The server is a x64 WIn 2003 R2 box, fully patched. I get an error during the initial phase saying the DTC service must be started. If I try to start the service manually then I get an 1053 service did not respond in a timely fashion error. I can also see the this error message Application popup: MSDTC.EXE - Entry Point Not Found : The procedure entry point MtxCluGetDtcRegValue could not be located in the dynamic link library MTXCLU.DLL. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?
Guest gsjutla Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 RE: Problems with DTC service on Windows Server Try this 1) Goto %SystemRoot%\system32\MsDtc Rename existing msdtc.log to .old and create a text file and renamed it to msdtc.log 2) Run the following commands from the command prompt msdtc.exe -uninstall msdtc.exe -install msdtc -resetlog 3) Ensure that the service is set to start under NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService 4) Ensure registry ,HKLM>Software>Microsoft>MSDTC is not missing, you might have to import the same from an identical server 5) If the issue is not yet resolved install the latest com+ rollup update from http://support.microsoft.com/?id=927673 Hope this helps -- Regards Gurpreet Singh "Buckeye Tech" wrote: > I am trying to apply SP1 for EXchange 2007. Guest Buckeye Tech Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 RE: Problems with DTC service on Windows Server Thanks for your help. I did the MSdtc -uninstall and reinstall. I still got the error MSDTC.EXE - Entry Point Not Found : The procedure entry point MtxCluGetDtcRegValue could not be located in the dynamic link library MTXCLU.DLL. I compared this dll to one on my other Exchange server. It was an older version. I copied the newer version of the file over to the problem server and everything started working.
