Best practises for disabling all animation?

I quote from a MVP below to a question in 2006 ...

 

"We usually disable anything with animation, so we can get

more users on each terminal server. This included menu animations, flash,

shockwave, windows media player"

 

What is the best way to disable all these? We do have group policy

available, any advice appreciated. Also, anyone who's tried this and can

comment on the users experiance?

Here are some GPO settings:

 

User Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows

Components - Windows Explorer

"Remove UI to change menu animation setting"

 

User Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows

Components - Internet Explorer -

Administrator Approved Controls

"Shockwave Flash"

 

User Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows

Components - Internet Explorer - Internet Control Panel -

Advanced Page

"Play animations in web pages"

 

You can also use Software restriction policy settings.
