Guest Unfriendly Fire Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 OK, I know that you may feel that my request is as screwy as I feel asking it, but my CIO is an Apple fanatic and you know how those people can get when attempting new converts in their computer holy war... Anyway, my boss told me about my CIO's idea of replacing our aging HP/Compaq and IBM server hardware with Intel-based Apple server hardware, but still running Windows 2003 Server. I anticipate lost of problems, but the first problem that comes to my mind is driver compatibility. Has anyone done this in a production environment? I'm not even excited about trying it in the lab... Any feedback would be appreciated, especially in a format that I could copy/paste to my boss. Thanks!

This can't be done for the same reason you can't put diesel in a car that runs on unleaded gasoline. Your CIO is an overpaid idiot. - Thee Chicago Wolf
Guest Anthony Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Re: Windows 2003 Server on Apple server hardware? Sure. Install VMWare Fusion, then create a VM of Windows Server. You just need an intermediate layer between the OS and the hardware.
