starams5 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Updates and patches usually get the install info (dir path) from the registry, this info may be missing in the registry. Quote
Goku Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Hello Doddy. What is the game you are trying to patch? Also, what add-on did you try to install for Skype? -- Goku Quote
Doddy7 Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 The game I am trying to patch is star wars empire at war, and the add-on is crazytalk. Also i have tried downloading them again but no luck:( Quote
starams5 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Have you tried re-installing the game immediately followed by installing the patch. Quote
Goku Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Hello Doddy. Try copying the patch in the game's installation directory and then try to execute it. See if it is able to install now or not. For your Skype problem, if you have the version 4 installed, then you can use the troubleshooting instructions from here to correct the problem. If you have an older version installed, then you can download the latest version from here and then try and install the add-on. Let us know what works for you. Good Luck. :) -- Goku Quote
Doddy7 Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 Thanks Goku that has fixed the skype problem. I know this might sound like a silly question, but where can I find the installation directory, I think I have found it but I just want to be sure. Quote
Goku Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 I know this might sound like a silly question No worries Doddy. That is not at all a silly question. I am not too sure of it but it should be somewhere under C:\Program Files\Sega. If its not there, then perform a search for the keywords "Empire" and see if it yields the directory. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku Quote
Goku Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 OK Doddy. Please tell me what folder is the one that you suspect you found? -- Goku Quote
Doddy7 Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 It is called Install and I have tried putting it into there but no luck Quote
maynardvdm Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Hi Look under this directory: C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\ Quote We are all members helping other members. Goku Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Hello Doddy. Please right-click on the shortcut to the game and select the Properties option. Note down the path in the Target: field. This is where you have to place the patch and try and install it. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku Quote
Doddy7 Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 no, still no luck, it still comes up with 'original installation of Star Wars empire at war not found. You must have the original game installed to use these tools. Quote
Goku Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Hello Doddy. Is the disc you are using borrowed from a friend or another third-party source? -- Goku Quote
