Guest Robert Bollinger Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Hello All - I have a fairely simple question about the nature of SID,RID,GUID. here is what i understand: SID - Security IDentifier, IDentifies any account (Computer, User, Group). GUID - Globally unique identifier, is a number that is assigned to each (and that means any) object in ad. RID - Relative Identifier - is assigned to each domain controller in the domain, and therefore is used when new objects are created) here is my question: Do the above read like this: S-XXX-XXX-SID R-XXX-XXX-RID G-XXX-XXX-XXX-GUID? all on the same line or are they 3 sepereate numbers? how do i view all of these numbers and where are they? Please Advise... and Thank you... Robert
