mellyg Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I have recently completely reinstalled everything on my PC. Now have simply windows xp professional, then I installed the drivers. I get the internet to work through an ethernet connection, I then installed an anti-virus downloaded from the net, When I went to restart my computer, once the IP address had been found, it showed TFTP... I waited for a few minutes, and then TFTP: timeout appeared. I thought I was stuck on this screen but eventually through pressing escape managed to get back to the normal start-up. however as I pressed esc the message "exiting broadcom PXE Rom" appeared. I have absolutely no idea what any of this means. What have I done wrong? How can I solve this? Any help would be great! Thank you M Quote
londonles Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 hello TFTP - Trivial File Transfer Protocol is a process used by host adapters to talk to each other on first boot, because you also mention the problem "exiting Broadcom PXE" I would guess you have a host adapter problem. Try reinstalling the drivers for the broadcom network adapter and restart the pc Les Quote Turn it on first it often helpsAll answers are given in good faith and carry no warranty or liabilities, please consider the implications of each action you choose as we can not be held responsible for any loss or damage how so ever caused
