Epson printer won't print from HP laptop on Wireless connection

Hi everyone Newbie here!

I recently bought an Epson Stylus SX600FW wireless printer. I tried to set it up initially on my HP Compaq nc4400 laptop. It appeared to go well however the printer although recognised will not work. This works on XP Pro.

I then tried my Dell laptop and it set up without a hitch.

I've spoken with both Epson & HP and they were equally unhelpful.

I've tried the obvious disabling of just about everything but I can't get the printer to work off my HP!!

Can anyone out there help!!!!

Is there any error message that comes up, or install error that would tell you something is amiss?

 

When you say it will not work, do you mean when it is connected using a USB cable or when it is connected through a wireless router?

 

Have you tried downloading the latest drivers from the Epson website?

Hi,

I've tried installation both wirelessly & with USB.

There are no error messages at all which is strange.

Basically the installation disk goes through the whole process and says it's done. Then when I go to print the test print, it sends it to the printer & nothing happens, eventually the printer status notification shows ERROR, no code or anything else. It appears to be getting lost somewhere between my computer and the printer??

Look at the printer control panel for any errors instead of the notification window.

 

Have you looked in Device Manager for any driver problems?

 

During the software installation did you wait until instructed to plug in the USB cable?

Thanks all.

I've removed the CD drivers etc & used the Epson on-line drivers to reinstall.

The good news is I can now print using the USB cable which is a really good start.

Does anyone know how I now progress to wireless successfully??

I've now tried reinstalling from disk only the connection driver. Needless to say it hasn't worked.

Luckily it hasn't effected my USB printing ability however it's now shown as a different printer in Printers & Faxes and the same issues are occurring wirelessly??

Did you download the pdf manuals?

 

They also have an online manual you should check out.
